Christina Pang-Capello
Interior Design Manager

Christina Pang-Capello’s role as an Interior Design Manager has been as much about shaping the character and identity of an environment as it has about designing the textures, colors, furnishings and visual displays of a space. Her expertise ranges from space planning, conceptual design and implementation to finish and furniture selection as well as visual merchandising.

With more than 15 years as a design professional, Christina’s vast project experience ranges from interior design of retail stores, restaurants and outdoor lifestyle malls to luxury residences, offices and country markets.

Christina’s creative ideas have helped to form the brand identity of numerous shops and restaurants. She recently played a critical role in the design and finish selection for the T&C Surf Shop at the Haleiwa Store Lots that led to a great looking and highly successful project that exudes the spirit of T&C Surf while capturing the vintage, one of a kind essence of historic Haleiwa Town. Her creative ideas at Coconut Marketplace, an outdoor lifestyle mall in Kauai, helped to form a quaint and charming “streetscape”.

Darin M. Fukunaga AIA NCARB

Darin M. Fukunaga is the founding partner of ADM. He has more than 19 years of experience as an architect specializing in project management, construction supervision and personnel management. His technical and construction expertise along with a keen sensitivity for design and business strategy makes Mr. Fukunaga an invaluable contributor to ADM’s vast array of commercial projects in Hawaii, Guam, Saipan as well as Las Vegas.

Mr. Fukunaga’s recent work includes managing the planning, documentation, permit and construction observation for an award winning 25,000 square foot flagship gourmet market at the Queen’s Market Place in Kona, Hawaii. Mr. Fukunaga’s expertise was instrumental in organizing and orchestrating a complex program which included a full service deli kitchen, wine bar, sushi bar, select meat and seafood departments that continued to evolve and change while under construction. Mr. Fukunaga led the project design team through the project changes while simultaneously communicating the design needs to the construction team.

In Las Vegas, he oversaw the construction of a 6,000 square foot flagship hospitality convenience store on Las Vegas Boulevard. With ADM serving as the design consultant, Mr. Fukunaga coordinated the design intent with the architect of record and provided guidance through required changes due to field conditions as well as client needs.

Additional project experience includes the Waikiki Shopping Plaza Food Court, a 12,000 square foot common area renovation which included coordination of tenant shell build outs as well as interior build outs for a 4,000 square foot restaurant and a 650 square foot ice cream shop. Tiki’s Grill & Bar, a 10,000 square foot themed restaurant where Mr. Fukunaga managed the design documentation as well as construction supervision.

Mr. Fukunaga is a registered architect in Hawaii and Nevada and is also a registered member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.

Ella D. Garcia, DARCH LEED Green Associate
Project Manager

Ella Garcia is a highly skilled leader and manager who excels in collaborating with clients and leading teams of designers, consultants and contractors through the design, permitting and construction process to project completion.

Ella joined the ADM team in 2010 and has quickly become an integral member of our organization working on some of our most crucial and complex projects in Hawaii, Las Vegas and Guam. Some of Ella’s recent projects include Island Gourmet Markets at The Shops in Wailea, Maui, a 14,000sf Food Market and Restaurant as well as a flagship ABC Store at the Fashion Show Mall in Las Vegas. At the Niuiki Residence in Honolulu, Ella worked through every design detail with the client, Interior Designer and Contractor to create a beautiful, traditional style tropical, ocean front vacation home.

Grant S. Sumile AIA

Grant S. Sumile has 15 years of experience as a project designer and manager and serves as design principal for ADM. Mr. Sumile’s innovative and progressive approach to architectural and interior design combined with a passion for aligning architectural design with business goals has created numerous successful and award winning projects.

Mr. Sumile’s recent work includes the branding, architectural design and project management for a 5,000 square foot surf/urban lifestyle store. His investigative approach led the design team through merchandise, demographic, traffic pattern studies which resulted in a design that encapsulated the energy of a new flagship store whose look and success is being sought out by numerous additional locations.

A conceptual exercise for a 160,000 square foot redevelopment of a shopping complex benefited from Mr. Sumile’s knowledge of tenant needs. His sketching and rendering talents quickly devised an exiting redevelopment plan whose ideas attracted numerous endorsements from well respected retailers and restaurateurs while meeting the goals set forth by the developer.

Additional experience includes a 6,000 square ultra contemporary residence that pushes the edge of design and technology where function and form were custom designed into every detail from each unique bedroom door to a one of a kind carbon fiber stair case. Mr. Sumile worked closely with the construction team from masons to cabinet makers to devise methods to execute the progressive ideas resulting from the design process.

Mr. Sumile is a registered architect in the state of Hawaii and has a wide range of project experience from luxury high rise condominiums and custom homes to resort spas. Mr. Sumile has taught architectural design at the University of Hawaii, School of Architecture and has been a guest lecturer at numerous schools of design as well as in the professional community.
